    And what about the "University of Honolulu USA" (accredited by "IAUCI") whose site you list as your homepage in your profile? None of these 4 has recognized accreditation in the U.S.A., and all would be considered nonwonderful.

    The website (www.osac.state.or.us/oda/unaccredited.html) may provide you partial answer, but far from completeness.

    Another website (www.geocities.com/siliconvalley/haven/2386/distance.html) may provide useful information about accredited distance learning programs and RECOGNIZED accreditation agencies in the US.

    It is unfortunate that a number of unaccredited US programs are running in the China (PRC). The program fees are expensive in terms of the standard of living there (it may equivalent to a number of years of salaries of a person in China). The same situation has long been happened in other Asian countries.

    Some points may need to note before registering in the US DL programs:

    1) Does the program accredited by a RECOGNIZED accrediting agencies in the US (mainly 6 regional accrediting agencies - Middle States, New England, North Central, Southern, Western Association of Colleges and Schools)?

    2) Check the website of the universities, the website address with suffix "...edu" may not always represent a legitimate university (except UK univ. -"....ac.uk" or Australian univ. - "....edu.au" always represents a legitimate university). However, the website address with suffix "....com", "....org", or "....co.uk", etc. always represents an unaccredited school;

    3) It would be more questionable if the program fees must be paid in one lump sum (rather than certain amount per credit/course); especially special promotion/bonus is offered for early registration. It is also questionable if the program can be completed with little course work and within short period of time.

    4) Ask more questions if you have doubt about certain program (e.g. posting a question in this forum or other similar forums). There are people from different countries posting their responses here; and of course, a French is more familiar with the French education system and schools than you and I and the same applies to other countries.

    Good Luck.
