My aunt asked for my advice about a distance M.Ed., in Reading Education. I searched the forum but the keyword "reading" results in hundreds of threads which don't apply.

Can anybody help? It would need to be RA, inexpensive and completely at a distance because she's got two youngsters at home; one with autism.

BTW, she has a Bachelors degree in Archeology and is hoping to launch a second career. Thanks for your help!

Penn State University offers a Master of Education, with concentrations in adult education, curriculum and instruction-children’s literature, curriculum and instruction-teacher leadership, earth science, and instructional systems-educational technology.

Here's a direct link to their Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction—Children's Literature ("Help Children Discover the Joys of Reading"): Penn State

Also, I'm not sure if they have reading-specific programs, but these universities also offer M.Ed degrees online:

    • Brenau University
    • Dallas Baptist University
    • East Carolina University
    • Northern Arizona University

I'm going to research these schools over the weekend. I can't thank you enough ... you've saved me hours of googling :)

Don't know how I missed this, but from the great State of Kansas, both Emporia State University www.emporia.edu and Fort Hays State University www.fhsu.edu offer master's degrees in reading at a distance.
