I have a final to take over this coming weekend and I'll be done with my first semester at Dakota State. Whew. I took 2 courses: Intro to Research & Systems Analysis...both required a lot of work. Intro to Research - Great class and TON of work. This is what I expect a graduate course to be like. Systems Analysis - Good class...lots of work but nothing too taxing. I have to say that I'm very happy with my decision to attend DSU...the courses are difficult and informative. Time to take a deep breath and relax until the next semester.
Thanks, Eric, for the info and good luck with your final. An in-class DSU MSIS student agrees with you about the Systems Analysis course being good and challenging: http://blogs.dootdoot.com/phil/?p=25
Good job Eric. I took both courses last spring so I know exactly what you are talking about. The intro to research course is [was] just like you described it, but I thought the systems course was a bit more challenging for me than it probably was for you probably since it was my first information systems course. I have two finals to go! One this Thursday night and one that will take place over the weekend. I can't wait to update my % complete in my signature line.
Dakota State also has a good program in educational technology. The Program Chair, Mark Hawkes is a friend and colleague.
I just realized that I titled this thread "First Semester at Dakato State"....please don't hold this mis-spelling against me
Thanks Eric. Good luck to you too! I originally placed the % complete in my signature line so I would have a reminder of how far along I am in my program. But, since that time, the % complete has turned into a real motivator for me.
It seems like I've needed these last two courses since dinosaurs roamed the Earth, but even so I decided to wait to take two courses from Marymount for free in the Spring and transfer them rather than take pay to take two at GW this term. So I'm looking at May to finally be done. The cool thing is that Marymount has two courses, one of which is all day every day for a week, and another that's all day on six Saturdays throughout the term, so I only have to go to class eleven more times, at least for this degree. -=Steve=-
Yeah, I was first read the topic title...and I thought you are attending a Japanese Institution or something.
