    Hi All,

I am trying to pursue a Master of Science in Information Assurance (INFAS).
I already applied to Iowa State University (ISU)
and am currently applying to Dakota State University (DSU).
ISU is a 30 credit program and DSU is 36.
If I get admitted to both programs, which one should I go for? Any other reputable MS INFAS programs out there.

Thank you all for you input in advance.

    v/r

    I say DSU. ;)

Both programs look good, but I can only speak of DSU from experience. Also, if you decide to go for a doctorate, DSU has an information assurance and computer security specialization.

What is the price difference? Is price, delivery method, and class availablity issues?

They are both reasonably priced with DSU currently at $269.35 per credit hour and ISU currently at $347.00 per credit hour. But, from the ISU web site:

DSU delivers courses via the internet through video streaming.

I have been with DSU for the past year (7 courses) and have never had a problem getting a class.

Capitol College www.capitol-college.edu in Maryland offers a 36 credit MS in Information Assurance.

Another thing is, both DSU and ISU are both NSA Centers of Excellence ... decisions, decisions.

My whole intent is to finish this program before I get out from the Air Force in 2011.

Capitol-College also is a NSA Center of Excellence.

If you had to choose one based on the reputation and name, which one would it be? I know DSU is pretty hardcore. All of them have a B&M setting.

So a vote, we have +1 for DSU. Any others?

    I don't know if my vote counts...I'm biased. ;)

Norwich University is a great school and has an awesome program, but has a residency requirement and is soooo expensive.

Your vote should count double -- you put your money where your mouth is!

Thanks, Tekman, I had some vague idea that there was such a program up in Vermont somewhere, but couldn't remember who it was.

Yeah, but for all the right reasons. That turns bias into "informed point of view."

So I have sent my official application package to Dakota State and Iowa State. I should hear something within a couple of weeks. I will provide an update as soon as I get a reply for the universities.

I don't think you can go wrong with either school. If you want more information about DSU, feel free to ask in this thread or through PM.

I'm coming late to the thread but I'll throw my vote behind DSU. I'm finishing up my first semester and am loving it.

Both schools are fine choices...regardless of which you choose I think you'll be happy.
