Anyone here take Intermediate German through LSU's independent study? How would you rank the difficulty of exams and overall workload?

I have been using a nearby elementary school librarian as my proctor for other DL courses, will LSU accept this proctor?

    Thanks

Yea, I read that on their website, just wondering if anyone has first hand experience/advice.

    Greetings,

While there may be some connection between a college's stated rules and its actual operation, it is charmingly naive of you to suppose that they are equivalent. It is imperative that one read a college's (or other bureaucracy's) stated rules as they may provide arrows for ones quiver in the event one is wronged. There is no other point to the exercise.

When I took a college level course from LSU (in 1999; I've taken non-college level course, too), my proctor was the supervisor in charge of training for my employer. I don't recall LSU's proctor requirements, but I doubt they mentioned such a person. Indeed, I dimly recall that some unpleasantness needed to be overcome--which it was. Clearly, you need to make enquiries. Do so now; with LSU, not here (but you might want to share what you learn); and possibly before you enroll.

And about your enquiries, you will want to ask if your local elementary school librarian can serve as your proctor, PERIOD. Bringing up the subject of "ALA accreditation" wouldn't be charmingly naive; it would just be stupid. <g>

    Cordially,
    Richard Kanarek

P.S. The course I took from LSU (Enlish Syntax) is one of my favorite courses of all I've taken. Who says there is a connection between quality and price.
