I just received an e-mail from www.degreeflash.com claiming you can get your accredited degree in five days. What a huge scam. Do people really buy into this?

Some Foreginers buy them. Hahahaha, $150.00 for a Ph.D? I think the frame is more expensive than the degree.:D

Um, do you really think that Americans don't go for this sort of thing?

"All member Universities are accredited by the International Distance Learning Accrediting Association (IDLAA), The Regional Education Accreditation Commission (REDAC) and the Prinicipality of Seborga."

    The Principality of Seborga?

    Wowie - something smells, here!

    Hi

IDLAA and REDAC are notorious as er..."accreditors" you WON'T find on CHEA or USDE legit lists.

Check www.redac.org and www.idlaa.org for the list of ...ummm "Schools" they accredited for a fee. I believe their "accreditation" costs around $1000 to $2000. I read their ads a while ago -As I remember, "accreditation" may require filling out a form, but not a site visit!

'Nother funny thing...there's a legit school (or two)

    Hi again -

I just checked IDLAA and REDAC's school list and I found at least one legit school. Lexington College - private 2-year women's college in Chicago www.lexingtoncollege.edu. It's RA and what it's doing on the IDLAA or REDAC list I have no idea! No luck finding a "bogus" Lexington College at all.

Most of the IDLAA and REDAC listings are "known unaccrediteds" on the time-worn state lists. I wonder if the RA Lexington College knows it's been chosen by IDLAA and REDAC for this extra accreditation "honour?"

    Curiouser and curiouser

There are more "good" schools on the REDAC site - including fully-RA Concord University in Athens, W.VA established around 170 years ago! Wonder how THEY got there?

The list has some others that have no apparent websites and still more that are known entities - like Myers College (not the real Myers University) and West Clayton, of Humble, Texas.

IDLAA is are a bit different - some straightforward known-for-what-they-are, no "ringers," known good or confused-with-known good that I could see.
Again, several "universities" with NO findable websites.

Treacherous path to tread! I'm outa here!

Always remember and never forget what your momma always said: If it seems too good to be true, it probably is!

    Ted,

You are totally correct. Listen to your mommy, and you will be OK. Mommy knows best. If it sounds to good to be true, it's definitely not good. A degree from a school that is not RA or recognized by an accrediting agency approved by CHEA is worthless in today's society. Do your due diligence so you may learn the value of your sought after degree. By the way I just learned my soon to be accredited B.S. degree from Southwest Univesity (DETC) is considered substandard, and maybe illegal in the state of Texas. What a huge dissapointment after many months of hard work. It is to late for me, however, if I was to do it over again my B.S. degree would be from an RA school. I always had my doubts, but I was to far along in my program to change schools. Do your homework before you commit to any institution.

DETC is recognized by CHEA as well as by the U.S. Department of Education. Texas currently is questioning them regardless, but that's so disruptive (not to mention ridiculous) that I can't imagine this won't be somehow resolved.

I looked at DETC's website realized none of the schools is located in Texas. What is aobut Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS) ? They are National as well, and not really different than DETC. They have lot of schools in Texas, such as ITT Institute, Westwood College, and etc.

    Ask the mailman!

It seems that they only have one mail man in Seborga:

    http://seborga.net/transport/index.html

Maybe he can tell us where the degrees are processed from

    Tekman,

ACICS accredits many schools in Texas, however, these schools only offer Associate degrees. None have a Bachelors program.
