When I earn my PhD, it will be in business. I assume that will qualify me to teach garduate level business classes. Will I be qualified to teach garduate level IT classes also since I have the qualifications to teach IT?

I believe so, I have professors at my current school that have degrees in many different fields and teach graduate level courses, from MFAs to PHD in math, and they teach IT courses.

Most States require that you have at least 18 graduate (or doctoral) units in a discipline to teach it at the undergraduate or graduate level. For example, in order to teach finance, you should have at least 18 graduate (or above) units of finance; an undergraduate finance or accounting degree isn't enough. Hence, your masters in IT should have included at least 18 units of IT classes, and you're locked and loaded even now to teach it; and if you have 18 units of what can be termed management, then you should be able to teach that now, too.

Devry for example requires 18 graduate credits in IT to teach IT related courses. However, you have some places that take non IT PhDs if you can show IT certifications.
