I took the American Government clep test last Thursday and only got a 46 and needed a 50, I used instantcert and it didn't help out at all. I have passed US history I and II clep exam. I found that the American Government clep was a hard exam. I hardly saw any questions on the bill of rights and amendents which people said there would be a lot of. Are these sources good: 1. American Government cliff notes, Pinkmonkey, passyourclass, and petersens clep practice test?
This is a tough exam; I scored a 51. I used the guide off of passyourclass.com and cliff notes. Good luck!
So many people have said it is easy, I will definetly disagree with them, you cant take this test lightly. I'm trying to clep this exam so that I can get it out the way, it is a pre-req for a nursing program that I wil be applying too. Does anybody here have the passyourclass studyguide for this subject?
I'll second the assessment. I took it years ago, prepped by borrowing and spending two weeks with a current (at the time) Government textbook, and reading a study guide from my base ed office. I passed it, but still only scored a 57. Sorry, I don't have a current study guide (the one I used was from over a decade ago). Good luck!
I took it in 2004 by using REA U.S Government, and Instancert. I received 47...then I took Intro Psychology instead...because Troy University requires either one. Yes, it is the hardest exam out of all the CLEP I took.
I used a study guide I bought off Ebay and passed it without too much trouble.... Guess I was the exception.....?
No, I thought it as easy too, scored in the mid-seventies. There was nothing in there that someone who votes shouldn't know. -=Steve=-
I have done quite a few CLEP tests and found this one to be middle of the road as far as difficulty. I used REA mainly to prepare for it and helped immensely.
A CLEP guide can be downloaded here for $10 http://store.collegeboard.com/productdetail.do?Itemkey=070062244&category=298&categoryName=CLEP&secondCategory=&secondCatName=&thirdLevelCategory=&thirdLevelCatName=
passing rate According to the Army Signal Center in 2001 only 9% of those taking this examination passed. I took it as an interesting challenge and I took this test. I don't recall my exact score but I passed with an equivalent of "C". I was not happy and took other assessments in order to remove this from my diploma at Excelsior. The pre-assessment I took looked easy, but the actual test was harder. Someone posted that someone who votes can pass it easily, it may be true and I may be handicapped here as I am a recent resident and my social studies were all on a South of the border country as a student. Still, that 91% failing rate among the military is something to think about. The data is at: http://www.gordon.army.mil/aces/dantes_testinfo.htm
I used a SparkNotes study kit for AP Government and PinkMonkey to study for this test, and passed. Took me about two weeks of study if I recall right. While it wasn't the worst exam I've taken, it certainly wasn't the easiest. There were a couple statistical questions I marked and went back to review toward the end so I'd have time to digest them. I've glanced over the The Complete Idiot's Guide to US Government in a bookstore, and it looks like it would be a good read for the exam.
I used this as my guide to taking tests. If the passing rate was higher then 50% and I knew something about the subject, I took the test without studying. I passed about 54 credits in 6 weeks using this approach and failed 3 tests. No bad - I basically earned an AA degree in two months.
Instantcert didn't help me either but I have had success using a site called degreebyexam.com and I have passed 4 this summer. It was definately worth finding that golden nugget!
What's the easy Clep Tests then? All this being said, what are the easiest clep tests for Bellevue University then? I am just missing 9 credits for my degree and need to make them up so no particular genre needed. I heard "Here's to you your health" is easy? Please shed some light if you can?
I took this CLEP back in 2009 and posted some study materials on my blog about it here: American Government CLEP. I didn't use Instantcert for any of my exams. Most exams seem to have enough free material available online to be able to avoid having to pay for anything other than the exam itself.
