Grenoble Ecole de Management has become the first French management school to offer free access to its classes via the e-learning portal OPENCIM (Open Courseware in Management).

Following in the footsteps of the Massachusetts Institute of Management (MIT), which introduced OpenCourseWare in 2002, the Grenoble school now delivers several free online distance learning classes including in management, consumer behaviour, and decision-making. The school will gradually increase the number of modules throughout the years.

The classes are developed by Grenoble Ecole de Management’s faculty members and are delivered via PowerPoint presentations, videos, and assignments.

Over 1000 students, most of them from Francophone Africa, have already subscribed to http://opencim.grenoble-em.com.

The diffusion of knowledge for worldwide economic development is an issue shared by many including UNESCO, who has recently developed a number of initiatives to explore the vast benefits of Open Educational Resources.
