Virtual Office Pool, on the prediction of the date that Trinity College and University announces its move to somewhere else, and the place of their new "campus". Envision a grid, with dates from March 5 onward across the top, and locations down the left: Wyoming, Montana, Alabama, British Virgin Island, St. Kitts, Other (rest of the world as a pool entry).

A copy of Bears' Guide 14 (or any of 20 other Bear books; see www.tenspeed.com) to the person who comes the closest in time, without going over. One entry per person, please. Post them here. If the time you predict passes by, you can enter again with a new one.

Can I say "Spain" and "now"?
    http://www.learnbymail.com/trinity/right.htm

But that's one of Earlscroft's clone campuses, and I guess that you mean the South Dakota Trinity C&U. (What *is* the relationship between the two, if any?)

    So I'll say... "Portugal"!!!
    http://www.degreeconsultants.com/portugese/con1.htm

Thats where they hold their worldwide MLM seminars in the fabulous "Factwatcher Auditorium". (Aka a mailbox...)

    OK, *when*...

Whenever South Dakota throws them out. I'm not holding my breath for that to happen anytime soon. So I'm gonna go *way* out on your grid and say March 3, 2002.

My answer: 'Other', a year from now.

I wanted to pick April Fool's day, but that was too soon. Therefore I pick October 31, 2001 [Halloween, don't you see] and Other.

    British Virgin Islands - April 1, 2001

They originally registered in Louisiana and moved to South Dakota, apparently in anticipation of increasing regulatory activity in Louisiana. I'm guessing that they're not going to want to take a chance on having to skip from state to state again and will look for a permanent home. They already have Ashington registered there.

Location: Other. And I'll even go way, way, way out on a limb and pick Norfolk Island.

My guess is the fashionable British Virgin Islands by August 2001 (just before the beginning of the northern hemisphere's school year)

    In reality - nowhere [IMG]
On paper, they incorporated in the BVI and then registered as a non-Louisiana corporation using the BVI address. The Louisiana registration was effective 23 April 2001. Without a specific date for the BVI incorporation, and no mention of the move having been made on Trinity's pages, it doesn't appear as if we have enough information to declare a winner in the contest, though.

Frangop asks: "does this mean I win the competition?"

Yeah, sure, why not. Let's tie up loose ends. (Are there any other open contest offers out there?)

Tell me what you want (see initial posting in this thread) and where to send it. Alternatively, you could probably offer my co-author daughter lunch (she goes to Melbourne 4 or 5 times a year for 2 or 3 weeks at a time) and she could hand deliver it. [email protected]
