    Hello All;
    I am planning on taking a few courses at Davenport University Online. They offer these two options:

    A) A 12 credit Post-Bachelor's Certificate in Forensic Accounting. The courses are graduate level.

    B) An 18 credit Post-Graduate Certificate in Accounting. The exact same courses from the above are offered in this option also.

    I prefer the title of the first certificate, since it is much more specific to the work I do, whereas I think the second option doesn't add much to my CPA and is 6 more credits.

    What's really the difference?

    Opinions welcome.

    Does that mean you can get the 12 credit one on the way to getting the 18 credit one?

    That's not specifically spelled out, but from what they have it looks like one or the other.

    My suspicion would be that the 18-credit certificate would be for a generic MBA who wants to teach accounting classes at his local community college. You might want to check whether the 12-credit program will lead to some sort of special licensure specifically in forensic accounting. If it fit one's situation, one might check whether one could pick up the 12-credit certificate on the way to the 18-credit certificate.
