I have benefited so much from the always educated, thoughtful responses on this board. Therefore, I am confident that my request for information will be answered with solid responses.

A friend of mine wants to pursue a higher degree (he's an elementary teacher). There are certain parameters, however. I am going to do some digging myself, but I thought I'd give the degreeinfo members a chance to display their incredible base of knowledge. :)

    Here are the parameters:
    1. Master's degree
    2. No GRE
    3. No thesis, comps, or final project
    4. Cost in the $10,000 vicinity
    5. Concentration or Specialization Areas Possible: Technology, Special Education/Diagnostician, Psychology/School Psychology, Librarianship, or General Education.

Does such a program exist anywhere? I appreciate all responses!

Several choices of subject areas. I graduated with the MAT w/o Certification this past May. I found the experience a good one.

I tried to edit, but it wouldn't let me, for some reason.

for the UWA degrees, you do have to take either the GRE or the MAT. I had previously taken the MAT, so just had my scores submitted to UWA.

The GRE and MAT are totally different animals from what I understand. I have never taken the GRE.

It's so tempting to say something sarcastic here. :D

But seriously, your friend has options. I'd recommend my program but it has comps and is about three grand over the limit.

There's this one at Fort Hays State University in Kansas, which was actually my number two choice when I was deciding which Master's to do:

There are also a few at Northwestern State University in Louisiana:

If your friend would like (or just wouldn't mind) an evangelical Christian school, Liberty University has an MAT and an MEd available online:

    Good luck,
