Good Morning, As advertised in NEA TODAY. Seems to accept all relevent coursework. www.iugrad.edu.kn Thoughts? Hille
You mean the newsletter of the National Education Association? They of all people shouldn't be so lax. IUGS has been discussed here fairly recently. Their credentials are illegal for use in Oregon and elsewhere. Search for previous threads that have "IUGS". -=Steve=-
This thread has lots of information about it, including links to articles, information about its American ownership and about its past claims of accreditation from things like WAUC. http://forums.degreeinfo.com/showthread.php?t=14402
They often advertize in the monthly journal of the National Association of Social Workers, as well. I wish these journals could be a bit more selective about who they advertize.
As a busy peer reviewer and instructional quality auditor, I normally don't investigate instructor credentials. However, this time I did and so I was surprised to find this on the IUGS website: "On a part-time basis, most candidates are anticipated to complete their degree requirements in six to eighteen months. The determining criteria are dedication and the candidate’s previous academic and professional portfolio." Source: http://www.iugrad.edu.kn/Length_to_earn_degree.htm I wonder how a doctoral process can be so streamlined as to produce fully qualified graduates in just six months...! Also, ODA lists them as an unaccredited school... http://www.osac.state.or.us/oda/unaccredited.aspx Different subject: I also noticed that ODA permits use of the California Southern University (formerly SCUPS) Ph.D. Psychology degrees in Oregon; I find that fascinating... Cheers, Dave P.S. Hey Vini, thanks for telephoning yesterday... Much appreciated!
