A news release put out by Penn Foster indicates its new owners plan to offer bachelor and master degree programs. No time line is given for a start date.

They wouldn't offer the degrees through Penn Foster directly, but would instead acquire or merge with a regionally accredited campus-based institution.

I like the idea. It keeps Penn Foster competitive with Ashworth University, which also recently started offering bachelor degrees. I just hope they don't jack up their prices like Ashworth did.

Any further word of PFC yet?

Just curious as to the Ashworth costs you mentioned too?

Yup, this is a good move and you're correct that this will keep Penn Foster  competitive with Ashworth.

Nothing yet, but PFC does have a transfer agreement with Mountain State University. An associate degree from PFC will fully transfer to one of MSU's undergrad programs.

Ashworth University used to be MUCH cheaper than it is today in regard to its masters degree programs. If I remember correctly, you could get an MBA from Ashworth a couple of years ago for about $4,000. Today, you'll pay more than twice that much.
