    Hi,

My fiancee is looking for part-time (online) adjunct work. She has an M.D. and a M.P.H. Are there any good websites out there for online adjunct positions? She is interested in teaching Public Health, Medical Terminology, Intro to Medicine or the like.

One question I have is whether an M.D./MPH would qualify one to teach where a Phd is listed as a requirement? I know an M.D. is a professional doctorate, but I would think that this degree combined with an MPH would qualify her to teach at Walden or a similar institution.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Tom

I used to work for Keiser University, a small proprietary university in Fort Lauderdale with campuses throughout Florida. There was an MD who taught as an adjunct in the Nursing program there. The program manager told me that the guy's MD was a terminal degree, so the guy was counted toward the 25% of faculty in the program required to have such a degree, just as a PhD holder would be.

Thanks for the information. I will pass this along to my fiancee. If anyone else has any suggestions, please let me know.

    Thanks,
    Tom

I haven't had an instructor with ATSU that either didn't have a doctorate or wasn't pursuing one.

Should be a very valuable candidate with those credentials, and SteveFoerster is correct, MD is a terminal degree.

www.higheredjobs.com is the best general site for broad searches.

Also, UNC - CHapel Hill just rolled out some Master's programs in Public Health. Would be a great school to get into.

    Hi,

I am resurrecting this thread to see if there are any more resources out there to help my wife locate some part-time online adjunct work. In addition to the schools listed in this thread, I am thinking of pointing her to University of Phoenix, just to get some experience under her belt.

Any other schools or job websites that come to mind? Just as a reminder, my wife has her M.D. and MPH, both from great schools located in the U.S.

    Thanks,
