I have just learned of a new Brazilian "Cyber School." Those of you who know Portuguese may be able to analyze this more intelligently than I can: http://www.fadom.br/ I discovered this in an interesting way, because I tried to join the Web community for AWU at MSN's Brazilian Web site. I have finally heard back from these folks--after several months--telling me that my application has been denied. ("Esse site é de exclusividade dos alunos do Curso de Mestrado da AWU. Somente os matriclados no Curso podem participar. Maiores informações solicite através do e-mail awulad@[...]." The sender was using a Web address at "fadom.br." Interesting. So I'm wondering if the American World University in Brazil has been shut down and the proprietors have just started up this other site....
I checked the site, and it is from a legitimate, even if obscure, private university in Brazil´s Minas Gerais state. They don't offer distance learning courses; the net is used only internally, to distribute course materials, grades and so on. Bests, Giancarlo
