I just had a degre evaluation done at Excelsior, and I had 2o FEMA courses listed on a TESC Transcript, Excelsior acknowledged none of them. Do I have to prod these people or what? I have seen on this forum that people have gotten credit from Excelsior for those courses.

    Direction would be appreciated.

Excelsior accepted my FEMA credits but I was told they had be on the Fredrick Community College transcript. I paid the money and did it because I was in a hurry. Oone person on this board was successful in transferring FEMA credits from the TESC credit bank but not without a "fight".

You may want to check here, this documents the "fight" one member of this board had to do with EC to accept the credits from the TESC credit bamk:

Anytime I had an issue with EC, I wrote a letter (via email) and it seemed to get a quick response.

    Hope this helps! Good Luck!

This is the main reason I haven't bothered with the FEMA courses. Unless you're willing to get them transcripted through the community college or credit bank them at TESC, it doesn't seem to be worth the effort. I can think of easier and cheaper ways of racking up needed credit. Yes, the FEMA courses are free...but credit banking is not. It seems to me the CLEP/DANTES route would be more worthwhile to get the credit...unless you're going for a Homeland Security degree.

A credit bank at TESC is roughly $300. $300 for 30 FEMA credits seems like a bargain to me. FCC will transcript the FEMA credits for $25 each. $750 for 30 credits still seems like one heck of a bargain to me.

If it applies to one's degree program, I agree. However, if you're like me and have all the electives you need it seems like an unnecessary headache, especially if you're enrolled with Excelsior.

Agreed. Unless you need the credits it really doesn't matter how affordable they might be.
