Hi all, I was looking at the seminaryextension.org website. They offer a number of classes that carry DETC accreditation and/or ACE recognition for a number of their courses. My question is, would any of these classes transfer to a regular seminary/bible college (ACSI, ATS, etc). I have no experience in the matter. I don't want an MDIV, but I'm not sure that a Diploma in Biblical Studies would carry over into further academic work. Any comments? Links are here. Seminary extension is a joint project of several Southern Baptist seminaries. They have transfer agreements with a couple of colleges -- and even a few of the seminaries. I'm sure that others would accept the classes on a case by case basis -- which is technically what happens with all transfer credits. Schools are not currently required to accept even accredited classes. It's a good program.
This really does look good. It looks like students can transfer up to 30 credits from a diploma right into a bachelor's degree at Judson College, a SACS accredited college. http://www.seminaryextension.org/secatalog_2007-2009.pdf (page 55), I may take some refresher courses there myself. Tom
