DETC has approved the University of Management and Technology to offer a DBA degree http://www.detc.org/theaccrediting.html#act
After they had a Ph.D.--to be accredited by the unrecognized PMI--underway, then lied about it. Congratulations to UMT. Now, can someone explain why getting a DBA from a DETC-accredited school is a better idea than earning one at a regionally accredited school--or foreign equivalent?
I know this isn't entirely related to your topic, but I have to ask why so many virtual schools have such corny websites, names, emblems at such. I don't know anything about website development, but how expensive can it be to at least make it look like a legitimate school? Do you really want a degree from....
UMT, or maybe more appropriately the people behind UMT, is/are very well known in the Project Management world and have had a very close relationship with the Project Management Institute (PMI). I suspect that UMT's enrollment in their DBA program will take off if they market heavily to the PM world. PMI's 'accreditation' (I use that world very loosely) of UMT means a lot to the PMI 'faithful' out there.
I re-read my post, and I wanted to clarify. I know the school is legit (DETC), it is the website that makes it appear that it may not be legit.
