I am registered to Degreeinfo and another called VAjoe.com and get most of my info on Distance education from these. I am not registered and do not participate in discussions on Degreediscussion.com but do view the posts there for info. (and there are people as Dr. Sear and others whose opinions I respect there) When I try to view it now I receive this message: You have been banned from this forum. Please contact the webmaster or board administrator for more information. I find it unusual as I am not a registered member, so I have never posted there. Why woud I be banned? Perhaps this is a malfunction but , because several members of this forum also post there I'd be interested if anyone has knowledge as to my being "banned".Thanks for any info. Laferney
The ban might actually be based on your IP address block not you individually. This situation can arise when a web site operator notices or receives complaints about activity associated with a particular address block. A botnet of SPAM mailers or DDOS agents might be "attacking" the server(s) of Degreediscussion.com. Contact the Degreediscussion.com web master and let them know about the problem you are experiencing.
So then how would you explain the fact that there are many others who post to both forums? Stop and think.
Sarcasm? Well then, OK. It's just that since Ted doesn't seem to post over there anymore (?) it wasn't clearly a comment that was meant to be funny. Ha! Good one Ted!
I have been banned as well. It must be an IP banning. I am hopeful that, come Monday, it will get itself sorted out. Tom Nixon
I suspect that the there's a DOS (denial of service) attack going on over there and they blocked some IP address ranges to prevent open proxy abuse to further the DOS attack. I suggest that you send the admin an email and let him know that you've been blocked and perhaps he can eventually reduce the IP address of his blocks?
I don't believe that I resurrected this old thread!? I'll have to assume that someone put some spam in the thread or something that put it back on the active list then, I came along and didn't notice. Perhaps then an admin deleted the post that made the thread active? Sorry I didn't notice it was an old thread. If this isn't what happened then the next most likely possibility is that I entered some strange time warp. I guess that would mean I should seek professional help? :wtf1:
