I choose UNISA, it is over 100 years old, a B&M school and I want the diversification that comes from learning institutions around the world ........ a global perspective!

For IT/IS, I would choose Nova or Dakota State. I am currently in DSU's doctoral program and I am very impressed with the education I have received so far.

For business, I would seriously consider Aston Business School because it is AACSB.

I'm not sure where I would go for education and psychology.

Looking down the road to the time I have to choose an institution for doctoral study UNISA with its research-oriented PhD programmes might be a better academic fit for me.

I'd pick any South African school over any of the ones on that list. It's not that I think they're no good, I just think that South African schools are as good and are a much, much better value. I mean, imagine spending less than $2,000 on your doctoral program!

I chose "other." Right now I'm looking at either Aston University, University of Manchester, or Grenoble. I'm interested in a doctoral degree in business and these three are AACSB accredited.

Well, if I had to choose only one doctoral program, I'd do a PhD in E-Commerce, and Northcentral University www.ncu.edu is the only school from amongst the list to offer such a degree (so far as I know).

I selected UoP before I read the thread. I selected them because they have a Doctor of Health Administration (DHA) that I might find interesting if I ever get around to finishing my MBA, and if the health system that I work for will foot the bills.

Lots of "ifs" and not much chance you'll be seeing me chasing a doctorate anywhere.

Ok I may be a bit biased since I am already enrolled in the program, but I chose Capella back in April 2003 and have never regretted the decision. Capella's classes have been rigorous, the feedback from instructors has been generally good, Capella worked with me while I was deployed in Iraq, and I have an excellent committee.

Capella was and is an excellent choice for me. As usual, one must choose what is best for them. :)

I chose NCU because they offered PhD concentrations in applied computer science and computer information systems. Plus, they are RA, ACBSP, and tuition is much lower than many of the other RA schools.

I think there are a number of good options out there for students. NCU is just one of them.

NCU because military tuition assistance covers the whole Ph.D program.

    UNISA for the price.
NCU for the price here in the U.S.
Walden because I believe it might edge out NCU if you are into brand names.

However, if you have earned a phd from a school....any school, then that alone says a lot about you.

If I wanted to join a doctoral community, Fielding by a good margin over Walden, Union, NSU, and the rest.

If I wanted to study largely independently, EBS, Glasgow, CLMS, TUI, and NCU all seem to fit that approach.

Hmmm....what would I do? That question is too tough!:D

I probably wouldn't chose any of the above. To me it boils down to simple cost benefit analysis. From my research these schools are all fairly expensive and the degree at least for me would have limited value. The problem with the traditional Phd track however is that it is not set up for someone who chooses to or needs to maintain their employment so I do understand the draw of these programs.

Thanks to a posting on this site I received information on the DPA program at Valdosta State, which at least right now seems like the best of both worlds to me. The format is such that I'm hoping to be able to complete the program while doing all of the other things I have to do in my life. The cost is also very reasonable which was the big draw for me. The fact that it's a bricks and mortar school with regional and NASPAA accreditation is icing on the cake. We'll see how it goes but on the surface it seems just about perfect for me.

I chose NCU because they will allow a student with an NA Masters (and no Bachelors) to enroll in their Phd program. This is my present situation (I will finish up the NA Masters next year w/ Aspen). Also, I like the fact that there are no residential requirements at NCU.

NCU due to learning & course formats, self pace, and the quality of their online library offerings.

Like most others here, I chose Northcentral University because of the money and because it's RA. I am unable to afford any other program, to include B&M programs because they require that I quit my job to go with them full-time.
    Mmmmmmmm....
