I want to tranfer from WIU and I have 65 credits on my transcript plus i need do 24 credits via portfolio. From a cost point of view ,Charter is less expensive, but as far as the portfolio is concerned, the courses are over 10 years old.I would like your input as to which college should I enroll in to obtain a BSC.I would like all of my portfolio courses(they were done through an Accounting professional Body) to be accepted as i dont want to write exams.I look foward to your feedback.

My credits (87) date from 1969 to 1974 no problem with transferring to Charter Oak.

If you have any type of certification in accounting the Charter Oak 'Special Assessment" my work better than the portfolio.

Sue Israel, PhD (then head of Portfolios) suggested the special assessment instead of portfolio for me. I sent them sealed proof of non-credit classes from Northwestern University, equivalent college classes and sealed proof of passing the exams.

The result was 55 semester credits from Charter Oak for $150.00!

COSC has been very helpful and available when I needed them, plus it is less expensive.

Your credits will need to fit together including their assessment for all prerequisites like English, math, 60 liberal Arts credits etc.

    Hope this helps
