Here is a description of an Ed.D program:

“Currently 131 students in the Ed.D. program and 100 in the Ed.S. program.

The program went online in 1999, 33 students have graduated with another 37 students currently working on their dissertation.

There is a dissertation committee of six professors currently. There are two faculty advisors, one for Ed.S. and one for Ed.D., but there are also six Education academic advisors.

The average completion time for the 33 students was 3 semesters. (About one year)”

Any red flags or other thoughts?

    Thanks,

    EMK

If the school's accredited/GAAP that sounds okay. Which school is it?

3 semesters sounds ok for a full-time Ed.S. but not for an Ed.D.

    This isn't a dissertation-only EdD, is it?

The information you provided is too ambiguous. If the suggestion is that there is an EdD program that can be completed in 3 semesters, then that would most definitely raise a red flag the size of Texas. But that may not be what you are saying.

    Hi,

Sorry about the delay in responding...

"The average completion time for the 33 students was 3 semesters. (About one year)" refers to the Dissertation portion of the Ed.D not the entire program.

    The school is Liberty University.

It has 16 courses (3 credit hours each) before a comprehensive exam then a dissertation.

    Thanks!

No red flags there. All very reasonable.
