Sam Houston State History Phd Status?

Last year I read at the SHSU website that the regents approved a doctoral program in history at the school. From what I gathered this was going to be similar to their distance learning MA. Although I have emailed the school in the past, I have not heard anything from them.

Does anyone have any info on this? Perhaps someone in that area that would hear the news?

There is a gentleman named Michael Mitchell who is working on his PhD in History at the University of Houston and he posts here as Tireman4 and Tireman44. You might PM him ... I think he was the one that mentioned it.
