Would like to find any recommendataions on an AA - would like to be at a school with both an B&M and online presence.

In natural resource, construction (not management, but more the technical trades - construction, parks and recreation, etc.). In California would be great.

    Thanks in advance!

Have you checked your local community colleges? Some, if not all, have DL programs. I received my A.A. from Cypress Community College in California. I know they have distance A.A. degree, but don't know if they have the specific area you are looking for. If you are a California resident, CC's are very reasonable. Perhaps others can weigh in.

    Good luck.

Han...first of all, it's great to see you here again! :)

I agree with Abner, that CA community colleges have especially inexpensive tuition (for residents) and broad program offerings, so that should probably be the first option to explore.

The only DL associate's in construction listed in Bears' Guide is Thomas Edison State College www.tesc.edu but, alas, they are in New Jersey (not in California) and they are pure DL (do not have a B&M presence). You might google www.google.com it.

Finding a decent Associates degree to study online is a tough task if you're going RA. NA seems to have a lot more options, but the utility of the degree comes into question.

I was speaking to an advisor at National American University, and she was saying how it seems like many non-CC schools are trying to phase the Associates out. I can understand that from a monetary standpoint, but I think education at every level is important, and when done by the right school, valuable. I realize that there are people who have a low opinion of an AA degree, but they seem to forget how many people have NO degree. Heck, I had a Supervisor once who only had a GED and she was brilliant. Too much is made of these things. If you're instructed well, education is good no matter what.

    Thanks everybody.

Bruce - yes, it has been a while!

I feel silly, as I have Bear's Guide, and didn't look in it. I will take a look too when I get offline.

I do need RA. I looked at the CC locally, but they don't have the fields - only with "management" - like construction management, not construction. There is a program, about 40 minutes away - that may be the best option.

    Thanks again all!
