    CityU

Does anyone have any experience with CityU.edu?

I want to know if they would accept an Associates Degree from Ashworth College?

I e-mailed them, and their response was for me to send them my transcript for evaluation, but I do not have my associates from Ashworth yet because I just have not started with Ashworth yet.

    Transfer Policy

City University grants academic credit and advanced standing toward its degrees for appropriate courses satisfactorily completed at other recognized colleges and universities; for acceptable scores on standardized examinations in college-level subjects; for completion of formal, non-collegiate, sponsored instructional programs and military service schools, as evaluated by the American Council on Education (ACE); and by means of the evaluation of prior experiential learning at a post-secondary level.

Students who began, but did not complete, academic careers at other post-secondary institutions are welcome to continue their education at City University. Coursework completed at other recognized institutions will be evaluated to determine its applicability to the selected degree and major objective.

The way I read that, only the non-collegiate instructional programs would need to be recognized by ACE. By other recognized colleges and universities, I'm assuming that they mean to say other accredited colleges and universities, though I can't say for sure whether they also mean to include state approved schools or not. The relevant question then becomes: Is Ashworth accredited? We find both here www.ashworthcollege.com/about/accredited.html and here www.detc.org/school_details.php?id=174 that Ashworth College is accredited by the Distance Education and Training Council. The next question is: Is the Distance Education and Training Council a legitimate accrediting agency? We find both here www.detc.org/about.html and here www.ed.gov/about/offices/list/ope/index.html that the Distance Education and Training Council is recognized by the United States Department of Education and we also find both here www.detc.org/about.html and here www.chea.org/pdf/CHEA_USDE_AllAccred.pdf that the Distance Education and Training Council is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. So, it seems that, since City University's transfer policy does not specifically say RA or no way, it seems reasonable to believe that NA credits will be considered.
