I recently got an invite to join LinkedIn, it's a professional networking site boasting 9 million members. For this group, I thought it had one really interesting feature. You can search for people by specifying a University name. From one of the forums there, a member took a little time to do some searches: "This is not a complete list - just a short list of bogus schools favored by some LinkedIn members... Chadwick University Warnborough University Trinity Southern University Kennedy-Western University Columbia Pacific University Almeda College Hamilton University (Richardson University) Barrington University Belford University Breyer State University Canadian School of Management Foundation University Greenwich University University of Santa Barbara "
Anyone who's on both DegreeInfo and LinkedIn, please feel free to send me an invitation to connect to [email protected] And my profile lists none of those schools. -=Steve=-
I'm on LinkedIn as well with a rather large network and am open to helping anyone contact others. Feel free to review my profile at http://www.linkedin.com/in/ericbrown I've done a quick search in my network and have found some interesting 'universities' as well. It is interesting how many 'mill-ish' types of schools I found. I use 'mill-ish' because I can't guarantee that they are mills but they aren't easy to find...real schools are usually fairly easy to find.
Hi there! I'm in LinkedIn also - http://www.linkedin.com/pub/1/708/b4 - but Eric's 500+ connections make my 30-something feel awfully shabby in comparison ... so connect with me!
Xing Hi All, If you have reached your limits at LinkedIn, you may also be interested in joining XING (formerly known as the Open Business Club), a network of 1.6 million mainly European professionals that is making large inroads into Asia. The platform is the most feature-rich one I have seen so far, and there are free and premium memberships. It sports private/public event management, conference calling, forums, messaging, groups, premium groups, invitation management, extensive search options (name, univ., orgs., interests, wants, haves etc.) and many, many more. By the way, I am in no way associated with XING; I just like it a lot. (Once you've signed up, feel free to drop by the "Education Mobility" group I co-moderate.) Hope to see you there, Russell
