If so, how long did it take you? How long was your thesis? Would you do it again? etc.

I haven't so I do not know was an OZ Ph.D. is. But I felt compelled to post as all I can think of is getting an award from the wizard in the Emerald City. In which case no thesis is required. :)

I believe Jason is refering to OZ as in AUS. or Australian. But what ever the case pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.

Yes, an Australian Research Ph.D... I am wondering because I do not recall anyone on the board who has. (I do know of a few who are attempting it, but none completed) Thanks!

You may be right, John. I thought Jason was talking about a Ph.D. in theatrics/deviant lyrics, as in Ozzy Osbourne.

    General basic rules and process:

100K words, but not less than 85K

    Period 3-4 years full time

    You have to get accepted

You may get accepted at one and knoecked back at another and then determine what that means?

    Most insist on a f2f of a traditional mandatory 58 - 85 days

Others 'get around' the mandatory residence rule - you decide on the substance of such a degree or such and institution?

The national completion rate is dismal and currently being looked at - one explanation is that it is too tough.

The future employment rate is under 15% so content and process are currently being looked at.

If the degree you do is from a faculty that has global acceptance and whose academics are revered globally and invited as visiting professors at top ranking univereities, you have made a good choice. If not in one of these categories, you may have achieved what you paid for - a parchment, well maybe a little more.
