I am getting my BS in CS through ACCIS which is accredited through the DETC. Once out of the Navy, I want to go to a traditional college to get my Masters degree. Do anyone think many schools will recognize my Bacc. degree from a DETC accredited college?

    Thanks,

Based on the registrar research project I did last year, the answer is that about 20% will routinely accept it, another 20% will consider it, and 60% will not.

For a regionally accredited non-resident program in this field, such as Thomas Edison State, the figures would be roughly 60% routine acceptance, 35% consider it, and 5% not.

So if you have a specific Master's program (or programs) in mind, it would be wise to inquire now as to acceptance of your intended Bachelor's.

Which colleges are the 5% that don't accept TESC? Can you give me the names? Thanks!

Yes, please provide specifics! This is the first time I've heard any indication that a TESC degree may not receive routine acceptance, let alone the possibility of it being completely unacceptable. None of the grad schools I've corresponded with have even blinked when I mention a BA from TESC, but then again my inquiries have all been directed at distance learning programs.

I'd really like to see a list of these schools...
