Is Global Institute of Finance and Banking a degree mill?

    I found a college called

    The Global Institute of Finance and Banking
    80 Maiden Lane, New York City 10038

    Is this a degree mill? It provided degrees in finance. The courses seem to be quite interesting and also expensive.

  3. Looks like this is a new name for the American Institute of Banking. The Global Institute of Finance and Banking website at http://www.tgif.edu/ mentions collaboration with Mercy College in several places.

    Mercy says that its Online Master of Science in Banking "will combine the strengths of the American Institute of Banking and Mercy College, with the former providing bank-specific expertise and the latter providing academic oversight." http://grad.mercynet.edu/banking/vision.htm

    I didn't notice any other mention of AIB or GIFB on Mercy's website.

    Mercy is accredited by the Middle States Association, one of the regional associations recognized by the US Department of Education.
