I recommend that your friend go to www.shrm.org - which is the website for the Society of Human Resource Management first. They have a list of schools that offer HR degrees and certificates.

What your friend wants to focus on in HR is receiving certifications from SHRM (they have several). While a grad degree in HR from a RA school is nice - in HR , SHRM certification is a gold standard, and the ideal combination would be the RA degree AND SHRM certification.

You might want to check out Washington Online Learning Institute. www.WOLI.com They offer a 16-week HR certificate program. They are RA. I think the program will be offered again in Feb. or March. Good luck.

A better alternative is Peru State College. They offer an HR Certificate at the undergraduate level.

CSU a good find. 15 graduate level courses may transfer to a masters program at APUS.

Cornell 's Online HR cert is highly regarded in HR circles. As Capella Rocks pointed out, the SHRM certifications are the gold standard. I believe the Cornell program is geared to prepare you for SRHM certification.

Do you know if the HR Certification Exam may be taken online or are the exams proctored at an approved site?
