I am going to recommend DL as a form of training for some team members who want to learn Java. Does anyone have experience taking online Java courses in a corporate environment? Any recommendations? Perhaps there are live training courses combined with DL courses?

Athabasca University offers a series of Java programming credit-earning courses.

COMP 268 Introduction to Computer Programming (Java)
COMP 272 Data Structures and Algorithms (Java)
    COMP 308 Java for Programmers
COMP 347 Computer Networks I (Java)
COMP 348 Computer Networks II-Network Programming (Java)

These course should not only provide an excellent introduction to programming with the Java language, but prepare the student for the Sun Certified Java Associate (SCJA) and Sun Certified Java Programmer (SCJP) certifications.

    Sentinel,

Thanks for the links. I should have mentioned that the company is located in the Netherlands so it would be nice to find some online Java courses in Europe. I have found some courses at Open University NL at http://www.ou.nl. I am curious whether SUN or IBM have some online courses as well.

Sun offers courses delivered via classroom, virtual classroom, web, and CD-ROM formats. Java Training. You can probably find courses which meet the needs of the co-workers in Netherlands; there is a US or non-US option near the top of the web page.

    Sentinel,

Thanks for the link. I can see that SUN offers a lot of courses with different methods of delivery.
