I received an email from Ellis College right before the holidays telling me of a 20% off tuition holiday deal:
    (Terms & Conditions
Student must be a new student, and have never taken a class at Ellis College before. Student must enroll in a class by 1/22/07, and must start first class by 2/12/07. Savings available for qualified students for as long as they remain active, active being defined as participating during the first seven days of the first class (submitting an assignment or posting a discussion item). Savings will be given per course off current list tuition, and will be a credit towards tuition and not redeemable for cash. This offer cannot be used in combination with any other offers. The offer only applies if the person meets all admissions requirements. Discount does not apply to books, materials or other fees. This offer not applicable where prohibited by law.
    ).

Based on the curriculum and some of the positive comments posted on the board I might have chosen Ellis/ NYIT. I ended up going with Ashford University based on curriculum, tuition cost, and the fact that I had already applied, done the financial aid process, bought books, etc.

My point being: I wish I had known that tuition was subject to change and is probably negotiable based on the number of schools competing for students. Lesson learned for me.
