Well- I did it. I sent in my application fee to Excelsior college. It's premature, but it helps me to feel the pressure to get moving.

    Right now I've got:

    6 Hours, Humanities- Clep
    6 Hours, Analy Lit- Clep

    6 Hours, Comp 1, 2- traditional
3 Hours, Amer Govt - traditional
    3 Hours, Biology - traditional
    3 Hours, Business Ethics- traditional

For a whomping total of 27 hours.

The plan-- My job is ending in 8 weeks, and I'll quickly be going broke, but I want desperately to have a BS under my belt before the next real job. I don't mind "temping" while I study, but the cost of job-hopping, as well as the lower pay without the degree is motivating me to want to hammer this home.

Target Degree- BS Psychology, Excelsior college

GRE Psychology- April of this year, hoping for all 30 hours
    ECE supplemental course- (research methods?)

Then... 38 FEMA hours brought in AND for 2nd depth area- business

MIS for the 3 upper div hours
Intro bus, prin supervision, prin mgmt, etc. for the LD business hours.

And-- I'll need a few Arts/Sciences classes-- Algebra, Sociology, and 1 more to fill up over there.

And I want to have all of this done by the date of the GRE test, so we'll see if the BS is do-able in about 6 weeks-- from the time my job ends, until the GRE test date.. (although I'll be studying for all of these classes prior to my last day of work to get my competencies test-ready).

Wish me luck! I'll post the progress on this thread as i complete the steps needed.

thanks. I'll be sure to talk to the Excelsior college advisor about the plan, but they're still awaiting my transcripts-- it'll have to wait a little.

In the interim, I've completed 4 FEMA classes in the last 4 days.
