    Hi.

I am looking to enroll to Clackamas Community College into the Emergency Mgt program. Has anyone successfully graduated from this program or is currently enrolled? Are they true to the $30.00 per credit hour system?
Any thoughts, experiences will be welcomed.

    Thanks in advance!

I have not done the program, but have been aware of it for several years. You want to look at this program very carefully. A lot of it will involve the FEMA Independent Study courses. Clackamas gives less credit for each FEMA course, gives those credits in quarter hours and at a higher cost. You might find it cheaper if you really want that program, to get a credit bank at TESC for the FEMA courses and to then try and transfer them. Ask Clackamas a lot of questions about this in advance and get it in writing.

    ... a 93 credit Associates degree?

That is pretty normal. Associate Degrees are usually either 60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours. I mentioned earlier in the thread that Clackamas gives the FEMA course credit in quarter hours and an not in semester hours like TESC and Frederick Community College. That is why it is not a very worthwhile source to get FEMA credits on a Clackamas college transcript as you will be paying $30 for one quarter hour, and you can get say 38 credits at TESC for $380 if civilian ($10 per semester hour) or $250 if military ($6.58 a semester hour).

Can this be earned online through Clackamas? I didn't seem to see that this program could be taken online.

The Clackmas program is simply giving college credit for courses completed elsewhere. Clackamas has no courses in this program that are unique to Clackamas. The courses come from completing FEMA Independent Study courses, US Fire Academy Independent Study courses, and classroom emergency management courses from the state emergency management agencies of Oregon, Georgia, Louisiana, Texas, Virginia, & the United States Coast Guard.
