Does anyone know Athabasca University's residency requirement for their Bachelors of General studies program? I heard they will accept degree requirements 100% in transfer.
Hi, Athabasca's residency requirements vary depending upon the program. Go to http://www.athabascau.ca/programs/outcomes.php and click on program requirements in order to access information on the degree programs. The Bachelor's in General Studies is a 3-YEAR degree with only 90 credit hours. Athabasca does not have residency requirements for that degree. In contrast, the 4-year Bachelor of Arts degree has a 30 credit hour residency requirement and is 120 credit hours total. Good luck
The Bachelor of General Studies (BGS) degree requires at least 30 credit hours at the senior level. When planning courses for transfer into the BGS try to locate the corresponding course offered at Athabasca University to ensure it is classified as senior level. Athabasca University also offered challenge credit for selected courses which provides another "testing out" option. Whether Athabasca University accepts CLEPS et al. is a question best asked of them. Athabasca University of accredited by Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE).
