Are there any current or former students here that could comment on the program at TAMU-C

Specifically, I would like to know:

-How are the classes structured, group or idividual work?
-Are there tests or written assignments or both?
-How many courses are you taking per term? What about summer and "mini" terms?
-Do you recommend the program in general?

    Thank you,

    Macattack

    Macattack,

How are you? I completed the TAMU-C MBA program in 2005, and I am presently enrolled in TAMU-C's Master of Science in Management program. Send me a PM, and I will try to answer your questions.

Can you ask/answer the question on the board. Others may have the same questions.

    Macattack,

-How are the classes structured, group or individual work?
I have only taken a couple of 501-series background courses. The work in these courses has been mostly individual although for discussions we were divided into groups.

-Are there tests or written assignments or both?
There are both tests and written assignments. They are like most MBA programs which have an emphasis on written assignments and exams.

-How many courses are you taking per term?
The fall and spring semesters are 16 weeks. The semester is divided into two 8 week parts for the 501-series background courses. My preference is to take two 501-series courses sequentially in a semester. If you are really ambitious you could take four 501-series courses in a semester. For the component courses you will need to take at least two per semester in order to graduate in a reasonable amount of time. Note that the 501 series is an example of how the school structures the MBA courses so that it is possible to complete the program in a couple of years rather than 3 or 4 years.

-What about summer and "mini" terms?
These are 3-4 weeks in duration so it might be difficult to take more than on course at a time. The Summer I, Summer II, August-mini and Winter-mini terms are another example of how the school provides students a way to finish the MBA program quickly. Most other schools only offer fall, spring, and summer courses.

-Do you recommend the program in general?
Yes, they have a good MBA program which is affordable. They do things right and provide great support when you have issues or questions. I am doing the program from the Netherlands and so far the whole experience has been pretty smooth.
