minors at excelsior

do they do minors at excelsior, if so what is the usual requirements?

 

There are no "minors" at Excelsior College. There are however "Areas of Focus".

An Area of Focus requires 21 hours with 6 hours upper level. The curriculum for an Area of Focus is not defined by the college but is advisor recommended.

The Area of Focus can meet a depth requirement as well. The BA/BS Liberal Studies degrees require depth of study in two areas. 12 hours - 3 upper level. I met depth requirements in "music", "theater", and "English lit".

The Area of Focus is listed on the transcript but not the diploma. Mine was "Performing Arts". My wife has two listed on hers "Communication" and "Literature in English".
