Excelsior evaluations

Thanks to all of the advice on the forum, I have decided to finish my degree with Excelsior. I received my unofficial evaluation, and it is fairly specific. My question is this: If I go ahead and pay the fee to enroll with Excelsior and receive my official evaluation, am I going to find that it is different, and possible requiring more?

I need to know before I pay the enrollment fee if I am going to be able to afford this, and am worried about getting hit with unexpected requirements. Once concern I have is that my unofficial evaluation just mentions 18 lower level hours in any academic area, plus two classes in my major, and the info lit course. It does not mention any math, and I took math a long time ago, passing the first semester with a D, and failing the second! Is this an oversight, or is it covered in some other way? I had one year of biology...could that have covered the math requirement? I also have one course in statistics for social research, but it doesn't seem as if that would do it. Any help appreciated.

If the math class that you received a 'D' in was of a high enough level, they will accept it as meeting the math requirement. The biology courses you took will be placed in the Natural Science/Mathematics section of the arts and sciences component of the degree requirements. You probably have met the basics and simply need 18 additional hours of arts and sciences which can be filled by almost any courses.

From my experience with Excelsior, they are usually pretty specific on your "Evaluation Summary". If they don't say you need a particular class but instead just have "You need 18 credit hours lower level courses". Then you can fill those 18 hours with just about anything as long as it doesn't duplicate something you already have.

    Fee for evaluation

Hello, I have tried to get a breakdown of the fees for evaluation. How much was the initial payment? Thanks. Hille

For what it's worth, I got credit for a D in math...and it was even in my major!

    It's a bit embarrassing - but the credit counted...and that's all I needed.

Okay, thanks guys. For some reason, I thought Excelsior did not accept D's, and I also thought two semesters of math were required for liberal arts majors. Maybe I have really lucked out here!

My memory is that I paid $75 for the initial evaluation.

No D's accepted, one math is good in the BSLS program.
