I'm very new here but from my observations in searching through the threads it appears that Aspen has a great program.

I have also recently applied to Aspen. I'm hoping to get acceptance for financial aid this week.

It appears to be some current students and former students here on this forum. Hopefully they will chime in to give you some valuable information regarding the program.

    :)

Why do yo want to attend Aspen University MBA program? Why don't you choose regional and business accreditted schools?

Perhaps the MBA degree offered by Aspen University is sufficient to meet their needs. Someone on this forum required an MBA to qualify for entry into a professional accounting programme in Canada and Aspen University was deemed a suitable school by both the student and the professional organization.

I have Masters in Computer Applications. I am working in Data Management. I want to add some Business Management experience to my specialization.

Aspen University should meet your career requirements. I took a project management course through Aspen University. You can usually find the textbooks from less expensive sources than their bookstore.

    Good luck with your studies.

Be warned if you do this, only order the book when you are about to start, also if you are outside the US email them to confirm there are no book changes.

I am in Canada and got burned a few times ordering from AbeBooks to deal with the 20 business days to Canada and then having the book changed!

From the emails I have had with their Reg. office it seems they update the course/books once a year.

    Sunitha, Good luck

    Hey Sentinel:

How does that work? Once you register for class, do you have access to the books ISBN number? I think there is a time frame when the book has to be ordered after enrolling in a class. Please advise.

    Thanks,

    Abner :)

Ok, if you enroll you choose your start date (unless its an interactive version then the start date is posted). As for the books Aspen uses ShopBiz (alot of schools do) for their bookstore (link on their site) and you can see the books for all courses at any time (all are there).

What would be nice is a note if they are looking at changing the book, Anyone want 11th edition of Marketing? I paid $1.00 plus $7 shipping from Abebooks!

I just purchased the book for Emerging Technologies for term one 2007. I hope they use the same book.

So once you enrolled, the ISBN# was readily available?

You can look up the ISBN on the book store at http://www.shop-edmap.biz/bbk/

Just select the course, then you'll see the ISBN or the product number.

    Tekman:

So the product number is the same as the ISBN number?

I'm not that familiar with student experiences in the Aspen MBA program, but I know that it is DETC-accredited and tuition costs are $250 per semester hour.

Given that price, have you looked at Amberton ($200 per hour), Baker College ($300), or Touro University International ($300)? And there are many others listed on the U.S. News & W.R. Elearning pages. Each of those programs is regionally-accredited, so you don't run into any employer bias against national accreditation.

My best advice is to look at a few RA programs and compare it to Aspen. Is the information management speciality a requirement? If not, California Coast University has a DETC general and HR MBA at $210 per semester hour.

    Keep in touch.

Hi. I'm curious why you chose the Aspen MBA over the other DETC schools and some of the slightly more expensive RA schools. Was it the specializations they offer? If you wouldn't mind sharing your thoughts, I would appreciate it.

    Dave,

I believe students attend to Aspen University because of the institution's promotion. If the students choose to do the prepay, all they have to pay only $4,200.00 for the entire program plus textbooks. URL: http://www.aspen.edu/Surveys/MBA-Ask.php

Oh, also....the students can transfer up to 18 credits, and/or they can testout for credit instead taking classes. Besides, the degree require only one exam (opened book exam) and capstone project.

Yeah, $117 per DETC graduate unit is a good price. That special has been running for awhile though. Is it available for the other degree programs, such as the MSIT?

What is your take on the rigor and quality of the classes? Are the tests online for each course? Is there any interaction with other students or the instructors? What is the turn-around time for getting questions answered? Curious about what they can do for student services at that price point. Thanks.
