This program in Nicaragua offers a European Format Masters and Doctorate Degrees – Sponsorship by a Member of Faculty*
    • Must hold accredited Bachelors or Masters Degree and must be sponsored by a recognized Faculty member of our University or another accredited University from around the world that can be done totally by distance study.
They state they are accredited and GAAP.
"Degree Credential Evaluation Services ( AACRAO AND NACES MEMBERS) are strongly encouraged to contact us for further documentation should doubts arise as to the status and nature of any of the degrees we grant. Universidad Central de Nicaragua was approved via an (Act of Congress and Presidential Decree No. 2822) and Accredited by the Consejo Nacional de Universidades (CNU) translated as: National Council of Universities, the official Accreditor of the Nicaraguan State for both Public and Private Universities, none the less once approved and accredited duly recognized Nicaraguan Universities enjoy full Autonomy, which allows us to design, implement, approve and deliver our own degree programs, using our Internal Approval mechanisms, with no further need to solicit or obtain approval of any National Supervising Agency.
All of our degrees enjoy full recognition of the Nicaraguan State; we do not issue unaccredited degrees. PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO FAMILIARIZE YOURSELF with the prevailing laws and jurisprudence that governs higher education in Nicaragua . We are listed at position No. 25 of the CNU Accredited Universities."

A Nicaraguan University with a mailing address in Costa Rica?

Reminds me of Rich Douglas' stint as a Ph.D. student in the Mexican University with a Florida mailing address.

I don't know about others but a school licensed by the online scams capital of the world does not instill confidence in me about the school.

This school is suspect. They do say that degree credential evaluation services ( legitimate AACRAO AND NACES MEMBERS) are strongly encouraged to contact us for further documentation should doubts arise as to the status and nature of any of the degrees we grant. So they are aware of what is required for a degree holder to show equivalency to a RA degree in the USA.
However some schools in Costa Rica have offered doctoral degrees
to US students claiming accreditation from CONESUP when they were only accredited up to a Bachelor or Masters level. (Empressarial, Universidad Del Christiana Sur to name 2) And there have been others with a proliferation of non-state independent schools started in both Costa Rica and Nicaragua. My take is that if a NACES member or AACRAO says their degree is equivalent to a US RA degree it is -otherwise it has no value and will be considered a degree mill diploma.
It does sound as if they do require some work and research. They require a supervisor.
"must be sponsored by a recognized Faculty member of our University or another accredited University from around the world "
I would wonder why they have to emphasis that they are not a degree mill.
" we do not issue unaccredited degrees"
So I listed it in the hope that it MIGHT have value but buyer beware.
I thought the online scams capital of the world was Nigeria. Has it moved to Costa Rica or Nicaragua?
