Of the big 3, Charter Oak State College, Excelsior College, and Thomas Edison State College which would be the most affordable, easiest path to earning a four year degree and most straight forward to navigate?

I got my AA through TESC, and had some interaction with Excelsior, but ultimately decided to complete my BA (with Psych concentration) with Charter Oak due to the flexibility of testing options and the (in my case, at least) better level of interaction and educational customer service. I think the costs are more or less the same for all three. The latter two allow one to use GRE subject exams for credit, which can cut time as well as costs.

    Hope this helps,

    Matt

I shouldn't have to say this to someone with your credentials, but . . . look up. At the top of this screen.

No, not as it appears right now. Hit your scroll button or cursor to get to the top of the entire screen.

Now, see the link that says "Search?"

    Use it. :p

I found that Excelsior was most affordable under my individual circumstance - the transfer of significant hours from many schools (and military training, CLEP, DANTES, ECE, etc) to be consolidated into a single program for less than $2000.

Navigation of the degree requirements depends upon the student. Those looking for a very specific program of instruction (take Eng 101 then take Eng 102 then take Eng 288) won't like any of the Big Three. Those who can look at a requirement that says "8 hours natural sciences" and understand what courses fit in that requirement will do fine.

Some understanding of how a degree program works is required in order to succeed at any of the Big Three.

I'd say that none of the three are "easy" and none are "easier" than the others. But then, I'm an Excelsior graduate and proud of my Alma Mater. :D

I finished my COSC degree for about $1,000 in COSC admin fees. It really depends on what you have to offer as far as credits.

    Randell,

I am curious and have a question. Did Charter Oak State College accept any California Coast's credits? I believe when you attended California Coast University; the institution wasn't accredited.

    Thanks...
