Are there any RA Master's programs similar to the Excelsior model (i.e. a university which awards a graduate degree based on the students' graduate level coursework at other universities)?

    vanadoo,

ahahaha I don't think so. Aspen University awards MCSE toward 9 credit hours. Aspen University is national accredited institution. Other schools allow you to complete the degree with 3 to 9 credits from internship; but you have to complete the degree.

I really want to know if it is possible to do the credit bank for Master level.

There's an issue with the standards set by the regional associations that makes the Excelsior model (degree by assessment) impossible at the graduate level. It's the same thing that makes a 30 hour "residency" a requirement for most bachelor's degrees. I'd have to reread the accreditation standards again to be sure but I believe that 12 hours is the max transfered into a master's from other schools, it may be 15.

I have heard of people using a credit bank service to consolidate graduate study for the purpose of college level teaching appointment qualification -- ie: you take 18 hours of political science from a variety of school as DL and then present them as consolidated on one credit bank transcript.

Thanks, I haven't heard of this ... do you recall which agency or university does this?
