I am looking for a Regionally Accredited 100% online MBA program that does not require the GMAT. Other than NCU, I don't see any. Having AACSB would be a bonus, but not required. Thanks, Monte
University of North Alabama: http://www.columbiasouthern.edu/una/index.html or http://www.liberty.edu/index.cfm?PID=814 or http://www.amu.apus.edu/Academics/Degree-Programs/plan.htm?progid=3488&concid=3490 or http://www.csuniv.edu/ All of these places accept DETC undergrad degrees for entry into the MBA programs.
These are a few not for profit B&M schools offering DL MBA's and not requiring the GMAT that you might want to look at: 1. Charleston Southern University, (IABE Accredited) 2. Upper Iowa University, (IABE Accredited) 3. Cameron University, (ACBSP Accredited)
Thank you both for your replies. It does appear, in the admissions requirements that Cameron is requiring a regional undergraduate degree. Any thoughts on Charleston Southern or Columbia Southern? Monte
Charleston Southern lost to Coastal Carolina 31-17 in the Big South Conference season closer - great game! Liberty U beat Charleston Southern this year too... 34-20... killed a CSU winning streak. Unless you pick your MBA based on football team results, I guess I'm heading off topic. But I'm a Coastal Carolina fan and had to throw that out there...
Between the two, I would recommend Charleston Southern. Columbia Southern is Nationally accredited and is strictly a virtual operation. Charleston Southern is regionally accredited and operates a physical campus 20 miles outside of Charleston, SC. Judging from many of the replies that I have read on this board, you might be better off opting for the regional accreditation.
Just to clarify, the link for Columbia Southern is actually the doorway to University of North Alabama. CSU manages the admission process for UNA's MBA program.
I like Liberty. They are RA and their MBA is offered in an accelerated 12-month program...no GMAT and they'll accept a DETC undergrad. Pug
I read on this forum that Columbia Southern has some partnership with the University of North Alabama. Does UNA accept a DETC undergraduate degree? Thanks, Monte
I believe they do: Here is the requirement. It requires a Bachelor from an accredited school; it doesn't say National or regional. "Admission Standards Successful graduate study in business requires a combination of verbal and conceptual skills, quantitative and analytical skills, conscientiousness and maturity. Students should have or commit to develop an acceptable level of strength in each of these areas in order to be successful in graduate study. Unconditional Admission For students to be considered for unconditional admission, they must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and meet one of the following criteria: Have a 3.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale for all undergraduate work taken. No admission test scores are required. Present a GMAT test score of 550 or higher and a bachelor's degree in any field. No grade point restrictions are used with this test score. A total of at least 950 points based on the formula: 200 times the overall undergraduate grade point average plus GMAT score, or at least 1,000 points based on the formula: 200 times the grade point average on the last 64 semester hours taken plus the GMAT score. A grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale and submission of one of the following: (a) Graduate Record Examination (GRE) score of 800 or higher; or (b) Miller Analogy Test (MAT) score of 40 or higher. Note: Official admission test score should typically be no more than five years old. For students holding a masters degree in another field, admission test scores are typically waived. I checked my catalog and find that Salve Regina University will accept NA degrees for admission to their grad programs. It's also here online: http://www.salve.edu/graduatestudies/admissions.html
Monte: Not necessarily. If you're older and can prove you can do grad work they'll often waive that. You can take 3 grad courses on a non-matriculated basis before you have to apply for a degree or certificate program. Perhaps call Salve and talk to Karen Johnson to feel out the situation.
