I am getting close to wrapping up my first semester with Penn Foster College. I have enjoyed the experience so far, but things are moving just a bit too slow for me (since it's a self-paced program, it's entirely my fault). Part of the problem is the one-class-at-a-time format. I'm considering a couple of different options:

    1. Finish the semester and transfer the credits to another school like COSC.

    2. Finish the semester, transfer the credit and do both the Penn Foster program and the new program at the same time. Use ongoing classes to satisfy requirements in new program, if school #2 allows it.

Charter Oak is definately high on my list of school to transfer to, but I'm curious about Kaplan University. They offer the BS in Communications program I'm looking for, and my part-time employer has a partnership agreement with them which discounts the Kaplan tuition by 14 percent.

After I finish the first semester of Penn Foster, I will have about 100-115 credits from various sources that I'll be able to transfer, although I'm completely lacking many General Ed and upper-level credits.

Do any current or former Kaplan students have any feedback on the school?
