Ashworth College is nationally accredited (NA) by DETC. The school is legitimate. Other members of this forum have attended or are currently attending Ashworth College.

They are both legit and accredited - they are not regionally accredited (RA).

At one time, their master's programs were very cost effective and value vs cost made them very attractive indeed. At this time, they are not the best possible option for value (in degree utility) vs cost (in real money) in many people's opinion.

There are other NA DL master's out there available at a lower cost and there may be a few RA DL master's at lower cost.

I took some courses in their vocational division (PCDI) a few years ago and was well pleased with the material and with what I learned. It would also appear that they now own New York Institute of Photography.

If you are considering Ashworth for the Associate degree, you should take a look at Penn Foster. Both Ashworth and Penn Foster are nationally accredited by the DETC, both are the same price and offer the same payment plans, but many of Penn Foster's courses have been evaluated by ACE, which will make it FAR easier to transfer those credits into 4-year colleges. This is especially true of Penn Foster's Business programs.

I'm an Ashworth College grad, it was worth it for me, however I found their customer service lacking.

Penn Foster would probably be more bang for the buck, but Ashworth is not a bad option.
