I'm just curious if there are any members who are located outside of US/Canada, and have received DL degrees and were able to use them in other countries, without any problems?

Can you please list your school, major, and country..
I would like to see how the rest of the world views DL degrees, and if you've had any problems?

A degree earned via distance education or on-campus should be seen as equivalent provided the institution is reputable and accedited in the case of the USA or authorized by the government (provincial) in Canada.

Unless you have attended any Ivy League school, everything else could presumably be considered suspect. Not many people attend Ivy League schools compared to the vast majority of people who attend the lesser known schools around the world.

The University of London's External Programme is extremely popular throughout the Commonwealth. In fact, I recently learned that there are more students living in the West Indies who are doing law degrees through London than through the University of the West Indies.

In addition, the University of South Africa, a distance learning megauniversity, has students throughout the world, and India's Indira Gandhi National Open University has support centers in many countries now.

If anything, I'd say distance learning is more acceptable outside North America, not less.

Re DL being more acceptable outside North America.

I spoke with a lawyer in the UK once who was very surprised to hear that distance learning laws degrees were non existent in Canada.

I agree that distance learning seems to have higher acceptance outside North America (in general anyway).

The Athabasca guy I met said that they're aware of this national deficiency and will get to it eventually. :)

Seriously? Tell him to get a move on, I can't wait forever. (Although the fact that I live in Quebec - civil law jurisdiction - is a whole other issue).
