As in EMT certification training? I'd find that very scary indeed. There are some things that just require an in-person lab component and this is, IMHO, one of those things.
How about just watching some old repeats of "Emergency" where everyone gets an IV of Ringers Lactate and D5W before being rushed of to Rampart to see Dixie!! Just kidding; lab & field work is crucial - how about your local B&M school? GOOD LUCK!! KMG-365
Try - www.trainingdivision.com. The class portion is online, but you need to go to Texas at the end for a skills evaluation.
When I was a kid I thought Ringers Lactate and D5W must be the best medicine in the world because EVERYBODY on Emergency got at least one of those two IVs. Imagine my disappointment to find out it was salt water and blood expander. I still feel Desoto and Gage cheated me somehow.
Classroom only Monroe Community College (part of the State University of New York Learning Network [SLN]; http://sln.suny.edu) offers the recertification online. But, as others have pointed out, that is for the classwork only. They very clearly state there are mandatory labs/practical components that have to be done face-to-face.
thanks . I figured it wouldnt be offered online. I dont want to try and make a career out of it but I would like to learn the basics...Thanx
