Sir, yes sir....glimeber reporting for duty and ready to rumble with those forum members (educated, nearly educated, and the wanna be crowd) who chronically refuse to acknowledge the dual standard so evident on this forum.

Just remember, no biting, hair pulling, sratching, head stomping, eye gouging, strangling, smothering or bone breaking. Anything else is ok.

    Hey glimeber,

I got a Bachelors degree from International College, which is a private not-for-profit college. Does that mean that the quality of the education is superior? :D

You beat me to it, Steve! I was going to tell Commissioner Bruce to activate the "GLI" signal. Can't have a Capella thread without the DI "Dark Knight", can we?

Have fun GLI; just don't abuse the "for profit" supervillians too much!!! :) :) :)

Well......according to the formula of life practiced on this forum that would be true. If you can''t remember it here it is again for your edification and pontification:

FP = bad, ugly, greedy, crossdressing, scum sucking, cheap beer guzzling, crotch/nose picking, Old Spice wearing, mullet modeling, Elcamino driving, Mein Kamp reading (actually listening on my 8-track player), bell bottom wearing, Confederate flag waiving, tobacco chewing, etc............

NFP = wonderful, lovely, euphoric, "Camelot" wishing, ethical, orgasmic, high standards, John Kerry believing, sophisticated, look down my nose at you practicing, France loving, Keith Oberman/Al Frankken worshipping, "Hair Club for Men" belonging, there's no better way to educate lockstep marching, etc.....

Aside from the very practical matter that institutions of higher learning need to supplement tuition with either an endowment, interest group affiliation, state support or for-profit status, the crux of the for-profit argument is that students are customers... Right?

Well, are they customers in the marketing sense? Are we trying to delight them while fulfilling their needs and wants at a profit? On the other hand, are they just sort of like customers and we can't completely care about delighting them? Do we have to do everything to please them except lower standards?

You meant to say Yep, when you said the students as customers were underserved. Right?

I don't recall anyone on this board saying it was wrong to make a profit.

By the way, if you format replies differently than the quoted text, that makes it easier to read.
