I am considering pursuing doctorial study in the field of Public Policy or Business. In conducting my review of several DL programs NCU, Walden, Capella, etc., I've come across Northeastern University's Executive Doctorate in Law and Public Policy. Since my objective is to teach at the college level upon leaving public service in 7 to 10 years, would I be better off with a DL PhD or an Executive Doctorate from a B&M program at Northeastern University (MA). I have no desire to work at a major research university, but would like to work full time at a 4 year college or possibly a 3rd tier graduate program.

I would also like to hear from anyone that has participated in Northeastern University's (MA) Executive Doctorial Program in Law and Public Policy

    http://www.spcs.neu.edu/spcs/dlp/overview/

or any other Executive Doctorial Program in the North East region.

    Thanks.

The program looks interesting and can be completed in two years. However, DLP ends with a doctoral project rather than a dissertation, and I don't know if that would negate the value of the degree in the eyes of your potential employers, 4 year colleges or 3rd tier graduate programs.

"Finally, because the cohort-based program provides a structured and systematic approach to the curriculum and doctoral project, students can complete their work and earn their degrees within two years."

This seems to be a professional program designed for practicioners rather than academics. It would give you the credential to teach at small colleges and Universities but it would limit your options for research based Universities in my opinion.

However, the same is for the other online schools that normally don't encourage publications so I would say that Notheastern is a better option just for the name.
